 Born into the family of Mr. & Mrs. OluyinkaSosan on the 2nd of April 1953, Mrs. AyodeleOmowaleOdugbesan attended Queen’s school, Ede/Ibadan between 1965 and 1969 and then moved to AdeolaOdutola College, Ijebu Ode for Higher School Certificate (HSC) which she completed in 1971 and subsequently secured admission into the University of Ibadan in 1972 and left with B.A. (Hons) English.

Thirsty for more knowledge most especially in a field she had strong passion for; she was admitted into the University of Lagos in 1976 to read Law and graduated with LL.B (Hons) in 1979. She equally attended Nigerian Law School and was called to the Bar in 1980. With these sound academic and professional background, she joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 1981 as a State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice( Department of Civil Litigation). She transferred her service to the Oyo State Ministry of Justice in 1982 until August 1984 when she opted for Ayo Odugbesan& Co. where she was exposed to properties and other land matters. She however left in 1990 and moved to the Banking Industry, (Gateway Bank of Nigeria Limited) as an Assistant Manager (Legal) from where she in 1992 proceeded to the Ultimate Mortgage Finance Company and served as Secretary/Legal Adviser and Head of Corporate Affairs.

As fate would have it in 1996; she was appointed Senior Magistrate Grade II and rose through the ranks to the Chief Magistrate Grade I (Admin). She has served at various Magistrate Districts, among which are Ikeja, Lagos and Apapa Magisterial Districts.

She gracefully bowed out of service in 2nd of April 2013 having attained statutory retirement age for Magistrates.

Beside Magistracy, Mrs. Odugbesan has served in Ad-hoc Committees such as a member, Local Government Electoral Tribunal, Lagos State 2006; member Committee on the Reform of the Criminal Procedure Law of Lagos State; member, Election Tribunal, Delta State 2003.

Apart from being naturally intelligent, and academically sound, other courses attended have indeed added value to her excellent performance as a Jurist, some of which are Information Communication Technology Training for Magistrates of Lagos State Judiciary. Handling of Criminal cases Workshop on Reform of the Criminal Justice System; African Transformative Justice Project Administration of Justice in the 21st Century; organized by Lagos State Ministry of Justice to mention but few. She has presented papers at different fora.

A woman of many parts and as a way of giving back to the society from what she has benefitted; Mrs. Odugbesan has served in various capacities, the professional bodies, religious and social organizations. Council member, Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association between 2009 and 2012; Member, International Association of Women Judges; Past Chairman, Magistrate Association of Nigeria(Lagos Branch).Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Synod delegate ,Cathedral Church of Christ, Lagos. Past President, YWCA (Cathedral Chapter) Lagos. Foundation member and past President, Soroptimist International of Somolu.

In recognition of her sterling contribution, positive attributes and commitment to the service in the past; she was appointed the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Judicial Service Commission on the 2nd April, 2013.

Happily married with lovely children, her hobbies include Reading, Swimming and Music.
