Mr. Adedayo Hazeez Adekunle was born on 28 June, 1955 at Alimosho- Balogun Compound situating at 47, Princess Street, Isale – gangan, Lagos, Nigeria.
He commenced his primary education at Massey Square Primary School, Aroloya Lagos from January 1961 and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in December 1968. He proceeded to Ahmadiyya Grammar School, Iwo Osun State for his Secondary education in January 1969 where he obtained his West African School Certificate in June 1974.
He thereafter attended Ahmadiyya College Agege (now Anwarul-Islam College) for Higher School Certificate between 1974 and 1976. Mr. Adekunle joined Flour Mills (Nig.) Limited in July1976 and served as Moisture Tester in the Quality Control Unit of the Production Department.
He was admitted to the University of Lagos in September 1977 and became a graduate of Sociology in June, 1981. After his National Youth Service in 1982, he returned for a Master Degree program in Psychology and he was awarded M.Sc. Psychology by the University of Lagos in 1983.
His working career began with the Lagos State Civil Service in April 1983, and after passing the Competitive examination organised by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), he was converted to the post of Administrative Officer II in December 1984.
Mr. Adekunle attended various Management courses home and abroad including: Urban-Economic Development Program, Galilee College, State of Israel (1997), Human Resources Master Class, Republic of South Africa (2005) and Transformational Leadership, Georgetown University, United States of America (2011).
In the course of his career which spanned three decades and two years, he served in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies including Governor’s Office, Deputy Governor’s Office, Office of Head of Service, Ministries of Economic Planning and Budget, Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Works &Infrastructure, Justice, State Treasury Office among others.
In Feb 2002, he was appointed as the Private Secretary to the Head of Service during which he exhibited high sense of responsibility, diligence and honesty in the discharge of his duties. His performance on this sensitive post prompted the Head of Service to post him to serve as the Secretary, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board between 2002 and 2003, the period Lagos State was adjudged as the best State among the thirty-Six States of the Federation that performed theY2003 holy Pilgrimage to Mecca.
Mr. Adekunle’s selfless service extends to his Alma Mater, the University of Lagos. He served as the General Secretary of the University of Lagos Alumni Association from 2006-2010, 2 National Vice President from 2010-2012 and a member of the University of Lagos Muslim Alumni Association.
Mr. Adedayo Hazeez Adekunle retired statutorily from the Civil Service of Lagos State as Director, Finance and Supply, State Treasury Office on Friday 25 June 2015. In recognition of his meritious service, he was appointed as a member of the Lagos State Judicial Service Commission on 2 November 2015.
He is married to Alhaja Risikat Motunrayo and blessed with four children and Grand Children.
