Oluremi Ajalogun was born on 3rd September, 1959 at Itunmaja in Isale Ward of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria. He had his primary education between 1967 – 1972. His Secondary Education was at Ikorodu High School, from 1972 – 1977. In 1980, he proceeded to the Federal Advanced Teachers’ College, Surulere later renamed Lagos State College of Education where he bagged a National Certificate in Education (NCE). By 1989 and 1999 he earned a Bachelor Degree and Master’s Degree in History and Public Administration respectively from the Lagos State University. He also holds a BSC (Insurance) from Joseph Ayodele Babalola University, Osun State, Nigeria. He is currently a PHD student at the University of Lagos.
Public Service Career
He joined the State Public Service as a Class Room Teacher, Master Grade III GL. 07 with the defunct School Management Board in 1984. After 9 years as a teacher, he was deployed to the Post Primary TESCOM Zonal Office, Ikorodu in 1992 as Head of Department Personnel Section for five (5) years. His urge for Personnel Management earned him an Inter-Service Transfer from the Teaching Service Commission to the Main Stream Service in year 1997 where he was deployed to the Ministry of Establishments, Pensions and Training as Senior Personnel Officer GL. 10. He was instrumental to many Capacity Building Training for the Lagos State Public Service.
In September, 1999, Mr. Ajalogun had a higher call to serve as the Head of Liaison Office, Governor’s Office. He initiated the first ever Summit of all Liaison Offices of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He stood out as the organiser. He was the protocol officer who facilitated the State Tour of the powerful Socio Cultural Group in Nigeria (Afenifere) to the Lagos State to showcase the achievements of the Government. His success later earn him a bigger responsibility between 2004-2010 at the Ministry of Transportation and Motor Vehicle Administration Agency where he held sway as Deputy Head Monitoring and Internal Control; Head, Monitoring and Internal Control and Director Project Management. He was instrumental in many technology driven projects such as: Auto Reg; Auto Insurance, Auto Inspector; Client Representatives Scheme; Vehicle Renewal Alert Scheme; etc.
The height attained at Motor Vehicle Administration Agency earned him a higher call when all the sheep were down in June 2010 as the Director of Protocol to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN. As the Director of Protocol, his duties included but not limited to: Preparation and think tank for the implementation of the Governor’s, weekly and daily itineraries; Management of all State Government events; Establishment and Management of Structure with clear cut operational modules for subordinates; Management of Project inspection and commissioning visits with relevant MDA’s; Planning and Execution of State banquets, Lagos State Thanks Giving Service, Inauguration Ceremony etc. His tenure was noted for laudable achievements in the areas of affiliating Officers to Protocol and Diplomacy International-Protocol Officers’ Association (PDI-POA) United States of America; yearly publication of Governor’s Guest List and Protocol Directory; and authorship of a book “Dynamic of Protocol Operations: Lagos State in Perspectives” which is a tool to seamless and dynamic protocol operations.
At the end of tenure of His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, Mr Ajalogun was deployed to the Health Service Commission in 2015 where he served as Director, Administration and Human Resource. He also had a short stint at the Public Service Office, until is present posting to the Judicial Service Commission in 2018 as Director, Administration and Human Resource.
Ajalogun is a writer and author of many books. Some of his works include “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu- The Solomon of our Time”; “The Dynamics of Protocol Operations: Lagos State in Perspective;” “Mentorship: The Broken Bridge,”etc. He has attended over 70 training workshop/seminar/conferences both local and foreign.
Mr. Fatai Oluremi AJALOGUN is a member to many Professional Bodies such as, Nigeria Institute of Personnel Management; Protocol & Diplomacy International-Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA), USA; Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM); Fellow Nigerian Institute for Training and Development (NITAD) .
Mr. Ajalogun is happily married and blessed with three promising children.
